JAKARTA – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through its Education Office, held a socialisation session on Pancasila education learning to strengthen curriculum implementation whilst ensuring the availability of educational textbooks for educational institutions. The activity took place at P4 Central Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Supriyatno, Head of the Centre for Books at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, stated that textbooks play an important role in implementing the national curriculum. The government has an obligation to ensure the availability of quality, affordable, and equitable books for students.

According to Supriyatno, the provision of educational books is based on several regulations, including Law Number 3 of 2017 on the Book System and Government Regulation Number 75 of 2019. These regulations establish standards for quality, assessment, compilation, and distribution of educational books.

Irene Camelyn Sinaga, Director of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency, stated that budgeting for primary Pancasila Education textbooks is important for strengthening understanding of state ideology from an early age. According to Irene, systematic learning supported by adequate books is necessary for young people to understand Pancasila comprehensively.

Nahdiana, Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office, stated that this socialisation is part of efforts to strengthen national values through education. She assessed that strengthening Pancasila Education requires collaboration between schools, parents, and society.

“Strengthening Pancasila Education also requires collaboration between schools, parents, and society through a tri-centre education approach. This synergy is expected to ensure that values taught in schools are also applied in family and community environments,” Nahdiana said in a statement.

Nahdiana added that the success of Pancasila Education is not only measured by academic achievement but also by changes in student behaviour within the school environment. These indicators include reduced bullying cases, decreased violence, and increased tolerance attitudes among students.

Teachers are expected not only to deliver material through textbooks but also to engage students in discussion and analysis of current issues, including social media phenomena. This approach is expected to make Pancasila Education more contextual and relevant to students’ lives.

Through this socialisation, the government hopes that educational institutions in DKI Jakarta can strengthen the implementation of Pancasila Education whilst ensuring the availability of quality educational books for all students.
