DKI Provincial Government Prepares Strategic Steps for Optimal Sacrifice Implementation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing various strategic measures to ensure that the implementation of sacrificial rituals can run optimally throughout the capital city, including the management of the sacrifices in an orderly, hygienic, and environmentally friendly manner.
“In principle, we are preparing as best as possible. Not only in terms of the needs for sacrificial animals, but also how the organisation is carried out, starting from preparations for prayer, slaughtering, to the distribution of meat to the community,” said Assistant for Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary, Suharini Eliawati, in her statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
She also emphasised the importance of using environmentally friendly containers in the distribution of sacrificial meat. This is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to reduce plastic waste, which often increases during Eid al-Adha.
In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is encouraging that the personnel slaughtering the sacrificial animals have certification as halal slaughterers (Juleha).
From the supervision aspect, she continued, the DKI Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) has begun inspections one month before the implementation date. Supervision is carried out in layers, from the regional level to the points of sale for sacrificial animals.
Eliawati also assured that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has coordinated with supplying regions for sacrificial animals, such as Lampung and Central Java, to meet the needs for cattle, buffalo, and goats.
“Coordination with supplying regions has been carried out. We are also facilitating permits so that the distribution of sacrificial animals to Jakarta runs smoothly,” she said.
Eliawati added that the role of Perumda Dharma Jaya functions as a supporter in providing animals and slaughtering facilities. However, the slaughtering mechanism at Dharma Jaya is generally not done on a small scale per kilogram.
“With these various preparations, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government hopes that the implementation of Eid al-Adha this year can proceed more orderly, healthy, and sustainably, while providing comfort for the community in carrying out the sacrificial worship,” she said.
