Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, together with the National Zakat Collection Agency (Baznas)/Bazis DKI, has opened registration for the second phase of the 1,000 Empowered Mikrotrans Conductors programme. “This second phase of the 1,000 Empowered Mikrotrans Conductors programme represents our tangible commitment to providing broader empowerment opportunities for the community,” said the Head of the Collection Division of Baznas (Bazis) of DKI Jakarta Province, Ahmad Sholih, in Jakarta on Wednesday. The programme serves as a strategic effort to strengthen community empowerment by enhancing capacity and competence in the public transportation sector. Through this programme, participants will receive training, mentoring, and undergo a selection process before having the opportunity to join as Mikrotrans conductors within Jakarta’s public transportation service ecosystem. According to him, the preparation process is conducted comprehensively through standardised training, mentoring, and selection, ensuring that selected participants are not only technically ready for driving but also possess high discipline, responsibility, and work ethic as part of the public transportation service. “This is a long-term social investment to improve the quality of human resources in Jakarta,” Sholih stated. Furthermore, the collaboration between the local government, zakat management institutions, and public transportation operators is key to creating an inclusive work ecosystem and opening broader access to job opportunities for the community. The programme is open to men and women aged 22 to 45 who hold a DKI Jakarta ID card, have at least a high school education or equivalent, possess an active Class A driving licence or higher, and have at least one year of experience driving manual transmission vehicles. Participants are also required to complete the entire selection and training series. Registration is conducted online and free of charge, with a deadline of 25 April 2026 via the link s.id/pramudibazis2. Through this collaborative programme, Sholih hopes that more community members can improve their skills through training while gaining access to decent and sustainable job opportunities. The programme is also expected to expand community participation in the public transportation system, supporting the realisation of professional, modern transportation services that positively impact the broader community.
