DKI Provincial Government Distributes Rp 2.2 Billion in Aid to 110 Schools Affected by Sumatra Disaster
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung stated that the aid is distributed through the Distrik Peduli movement, coordinated by the Education Office together with PGRI DKI Jakarta. The total aid collected amounts to Rp 2,286,000,000.
“This aid is intended for schools affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (4/5/2026).
He detailed that the aid will reach 49 schools in Aceh, 15 schools in North Sumatra, and 46 schools in West Sumatra. The aid provided includes 120 laptop units, 21 clean water points, and 5,058 school kit packages.
Pramono emphasised that this aid represents Jakarta’s concern for other regions, particularly in ensuring that teaching and learning activities continue despite the disaster’s impact.
“Education must not stop because of a disaster. This is a form of solidarity and mutual cooperation from Jakarta to our brothers and sisters in the regions,” he said.
