DKI Provincial Government Denies Use of Official Vehicles for Eid Holiday Travel
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has denied reports of official vehicles with B plates being used during the Eid holiday exodus, as circulated on social media recently. “Regarding the report, the vehicle in question does not belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, but to another agency. The policy on the use of official vehicles is the authority of each respective agency,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD), Faisal Syafruddin, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. He added that his office had conducted a trace through the official vehicle administration system on Wednesday (25/3). Based on checks via the e-KDO application, the vehicle matching the reported description is confirmed not to belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Syafruddin emphasised that the DKI Provincial Government enforces strict rules on the use of operational official vehicles (KDO) across all regional apparatus during the Eid holiday. Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Inspector, Dhany Sukma, affirmed readiness to take action against civil servants (ASN) within the DKI Provincial Government environment who use official vehicles during the Eid holiday period. He explained that supervision is carried out through mechanisms of summoning and clarification of relevant parties based on received reports, including tracing of vehicle licence plate numbers by internal teams. “If violations are proven, sanctions will be imposed in accordance with applicable provisions,” Dhany stated firmly. In addition, the legal basis includes Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2021 on Civil Servant Discipline and Regulation of the State Civil Service Agency Number 6 of 2022 on the Implementation of Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had previously conducted an audit of all regional apparatus to ensure that official vehicles are garaged during the Eid holiday and located at designated sites.
