DKI Provincial Government affirms free use of Maroedja Field in West Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Youth and Sports Office (Dispora), has affirmed that the use of Maroedja Sport Park in Meruya Utara Sub-district, Kembangan, West Jakarta, is free of charge.
“The use of this field is free. There must be no unofficial levies of any kind,” said the Head of the Youth Division of DKI Jakarta’s Dispora, Yunus Burhan, while opening the Pamos Cup I Football Tournament in Kembangan, West Jakarta, on Sunday.
Yunus stated that although the field is administratively under Dispora’s authority, its technical management has been handed over to the District, Sub-district, and the Kembangan Dispora Field Supervisor.
“So that it better suits the needs of the local residents,” Yunus explained.
Meanwhile, regarding infrastructure development, starting next week, the basketball court area will be fitted with lights at four corner points through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
“The aim is so that young people can continue exercising at night,” he said.
The lighting installation work is targeted for completion on 21 April 2026.
“Play with joy and full of love. Competition is fine, but do not let there be any disturbances or fights. Make this field a legacy and a place for bonding to maintain health together,” he added.
Regarding aspirations for absorbing local workforce (PJLP), Yunus explained that due to government budget efficiencies in 2026, new recruitments cannot be carried out this year.
However, he assured that opportunities for local youth will be prioritised when official recruitments are opened in the future.
