JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) will open population administration services during the national holiday and joint leave on 14-15 May 2026. Services will operate from 09:00 to 13:00 WIB at the DKI Jakarta Dukcapil Office and all Sub-District Dukcapil Offices in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. Head of DKI Jakarta Dukcapil, Denny Wahyu Haryanto, stated that the services are being opened on the holiday to help residents who face difficulties in handling population documents during working days. “A large portion of DKI Jakarta’s population consists of private sector employees numbering 2,741,771 people and students or university students numbering 2,062,593 people, whose activities limit their time for handling population administration. Therefore, we are opening services on the national holiday and joint leave on 14-15 May 2026,” said Denny in his official statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026). During these services, residents aged 16 and above can record their electronic ID card (e-KTP) by bringing their family card. Recording will be done at the Sub-District Dukcapil Office according to domicile, including facial photographs, biometric recording, eye retina, and signature. In addition, residents can also activate their Digital Population Identity (IKD). Activation is carried out directly at the counter as it requires biometric verification and barcode scanning. “By providing service times on holidays, it will accelerate the coverage of IKD users in Jakarta as a smart city,” said Denny. Based on the Clean Population Data for Semester II of 2025, the number of DKI Jakarta residents aged 16-17 years who are required to record their e-KTP in 2026 reaches 199,653 people. However, up to now, only 38,079 people or 19.07 percent have completed their initial e-KTP recording. In addition to opening services during holidays, DKI Jakarta Dukcapil also has outreach programmes to schools and residential areas, Friday Evening services, and the Saturday Population Administration Services programme.
