DKI Jakarta waives retribution fees for traders at Kramat Jati Fish Market site

The Jakarta Provincial Government is providing a six-month exemption from retribution fees for traders who have been relocated to the Kramat Jati Fish Market development site (Lokbin) in East Jakarta.

“We have decided that, in addition to providing space for traders to earn a living while simultaneously restoring the function of roads and public spaces, we will waive the retribution or membership fees for this Lokbin in Kramat Jati for six months,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo after inspecting the site on Tuesday night.

Once the fee exemption period concludes, traders will be charged a monthly fee of Rp180,000, which equates to approximately Rp6,000 per day.

Furthermore, Pramono has requested the Jakarta Provincial Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) to assist in socialising the new location to the public.

“Since many people may not yet be aware of this relocation, I have asked the Kominfotik Department to help inform the public that they are welcome to shop here, as the site is open to everyone,” Pramono stated.

Additionally, Pramono mentioned that his administration will improve several facilities at the Kramat Jati site, including drainage systems and air circulation.

He also requested the installation of fans to ensure a more comfortable environment for trading.

Pramono expressed his hope that the area will become better and more organised in the future, allowing both traders and customers to conduct transactions comfortably without disrupting traffic.

Previously, he had instructed the rearrangement of the Jalan Raya Bogor area in Kramat Jati, which included relocating street vendors who had been causing congestion and creating unsanitary conditions in the vicinity.
