DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Suspends Odd-Even System on Labour Day, 1 May

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) will suspend the odd-even system on Labour Day, 1 May 2026. “The odd-even system will not apply on 1 May. All vehicles may pass through as usual,” stated the official Dishub DKI account, quoted from Kompas.com on Thursday (30/4/2026). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through Dishub DKI, is following the policy from the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of three ministers on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026, which designates 1 May as a national holiday for Labour Day. As a result, vehicles with both odd and even number plates can travel on all roads affected by the policy on 1 May 2026. However, it should be noted that the odd-even policy will resume on Monday, 4 May 2026. “President Prabowo is scheduled to attend the peak of the 2026 National Labour Day commemoration to be held at the National Monument in Jakarta,” said the Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI M Qodari on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Prabowo’s presence is to support and protect workers. Qodari believes that the government and workers are two sides of the same coin that do not clash with each other. The government wants to ensure that workers receive a decent livelihood. “If the business world is not healthy, it cannot pay salaries, and vice versa,” he explained.
