DKI Jakarta Sends Health Workers and Rp3.8 Billion in Aid for NTT Earthquake Victims

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is assisting in the response to the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on 15 August 2026.

Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung said his administration is sending health workers to NTT to help treat victims. In addition, civil servants and City Hall employees have raised initial aid of around Rp3.8 billion.

“For the initial phase, civil servants and the ranks at City Hall will contribute approximately Rp3.8 billion,” Pramono said in a statement on Tuesday (18/8).

He stressed that the assistance would continue to be strengthened. The Jakarta provincial government will optimise additional support through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes of regional-owned enterprises (BUMD).

Meanwhile, Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Chico Hakim said the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has activated a joint post at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport together with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) since 16 August 2026.

The aid prepared includes ready-to-eat meals, biscuits, mineral water, tarpaulins, folding mattresses, pillows, blankets, family kits, children’s ware, and water tanks.

According to Chico, the quantity and type of aid will continue to be adjusted to needs on the ground. Distribution is carried out in coordination with BNPB and the NTT Provincial BPBD to ensure the aid is properly targeted.

“We are opening space for members of the public who wish to help. The distribution of aid can be coordinated through the Jakarta BPBD,” he said.

The Jakarta provincial government expressed its deepest condolences to the residents of NTT affected by the earthquake. Support will continue to be provided to assist the emergency response process through to post-disaster recovery.
