The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has predicted that peak Lebaran exodus traffic in 2026 will occur on two occasions: 13 March, coinciding with the beginning of school holidays, and 18 March, which will be dominated by workers including civil servants, state-owned enterprise staff, and private sector employees.
Zulkifli, Head of the Road Transport Terminal Management Unit (UP TAJ) at the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, stated that return traffic is also expected to be divided into two phases, on 24 March and 28 March.
Hundreds of freight trucks trapped in congestion at Tanjung Priok port
Hundreds of empty and loaded freight trucks became stuck in severe congestion within the Tanjung Priok port area in North Jakarta on Friday afternoon.
“This long congestion has been happening for quite some time and I was forced to turn off the engine,” said one truck driver, Yoga, near the Gate I entrance at Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta on Friday.
PLN Jakarta Raya ensures electricity supply remains secure during Lebaran exodus
PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Business Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya has assured that the electricity supply in the DKI Jakarta region and surrounding areas remains secure and in surplus during Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah.
“PLN’s involvement in connection with Eid is firstly about how we provide electricity to the community in a secure and reliable manner,” said General Manager of PT PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin at the PLN UID Jakarta Raya office in Central Jakarta on Friday.
Ragunan Zoo predicts 400,000 visitors during Eid holiday period
The management of Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta has predicted approximately 400,000 visitors during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday period (1447 Hijrah).
“We have set a target of 400,000 visitors this year, assuming the Eid holiday period will last eight days, from 22 to 29 March 2026,” said Endah Rumiyati, Head of the Ragunan Zoo Management Unit, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo inspected the implementation of an affordable market programme at Pramuka Island in the Thousand Islands, to ensure residents in the area have access to food at affordable prices.
