DKI Jakarta round-up: Traffic engineering for Jakarta anniversary peak and JFC launch

The Jakarta Provincial Government will implement traffic engineering on several roads during the peak celebration of Jakarta’s 499th Anniversary at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout. Governor Pramono Anung stated that traffic arrangements on 27 June will affect roads including Jalan Bundaran HI to Dukuh Atas, M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Mas Mansyur, Jalan Sutan Syahrir, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep.

Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno officially launched the Jakarta Film Commission (JFC) as a strategic move by the provincial government to strengthen the film ecosystem and promote Jakarta as a cinema city and national film industry hub. Rano explained that the JFC’s task is to support the development of the film ecosystem and facilitate film and audiovisual production in Jakarta through information services, coordination, and industry facilitation.

The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya clarified that the odd-even number plate policy at several toll gates in Jakarta is not a new regulation, but an existing rule that intersects directly with the capital’s protocol roads. This statement addressed widespread social media discussion regarding the enforcement of odd-even vehicle restrictions at 28 toll gates entering and exiting Jakarta.

Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the plan to build 11 public housing blocks in the capital is still under discussion with the DKI Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD). Pramono confirmed there are 11 locations for the flats, but details are currently being processed with the council.

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) announced that routes 1N Tanah Abang–Blok M and 10D Tanjung Priok–Kampung Rambutan will only operate until 30 June 2026. This policy aims to optimise passenger services by reducing overlap with other existing Transjakarta routes on the same road segments.
