The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has resumed its Home Renovation Programme, this time through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), targeting a building measuring 33.83 square metres in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

"The Home Renovation Programme is being carried out on a residence occupied by three households comprising eight individuals, two of whom are persons with disabilities," said DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Head Satriadi Gunawan in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The building undergoing renovation, he said, is approximately 40 years old, with a leaking roof, substandard bathroom, unplastered walls, an unfit ceiling, and non-standard electrical installations.

Given these conditions, the building was deemed to no longer meet safety standards, necessitating repairs to improve the quality of life for all its occupants.

"This activity represents Satpol PP's commitment to supporting poverty alleviation through improving community welfare and enhancing the quality of life for disadvantaged residents," said Satriadi.

The building, he continued, comprises three sections: the first measuring 1.23 metres by 5.5 metres, the second measuring 2.46 metres by 5.5 metres, and the third measuring 2.46 metres by 5.5 metres.

The home renovation programme is being carried out from February to April 2026, with a budget of Rp70 million, pooled from contributions by DKI Satpol PP members.

Satriadi affirmed that his organisation is committed to supporting poverty alleviation through the Home Renovation Programme. The programme forms part of the institution's social responsibility in helping to improve community quality of life.

He noted that Satpol PP's presence extends beyond the context of regional regulation enforcement to encompass a humanitarian mission.

"We want to be present not only as enforcers of regional regulations, but also as part of the social solution within the community. Through this programme, we hope the quality of life for Jakarta residents can improve and the environment can become more orderly, safe, and conducive," said Satriadi.
