DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Opens 2026 Labour-Intensive Programme: Here Are the Requirements and Criteria
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set a number of requirements for residents wishing to participate in a labour-intensive programme to be held throughout 2026. The programme is designed to help reduce the impact of economic pressures while creating job opportunities for people who are currently unemployed.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the labour-intensive programme is one of the steps taken by the provincial government to help residents gain employment opportunities and additional income. βTo anticipate the existing economic pressures, the DKI Jakarta Government has decided to open labour-intensive job opportunities for Jakarta residents,β Pramono said, as quoted on Tuesday (16/6).
In its implementation, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is prioritising Jakarta ID card holders who fall into the community groups of deciles 1 to 5. Additionally, prospective participants must be of productive age, specifically 18 to 59 years old, not yet employed at the time of registration, and physically and mentally healthy.
The programme will be carried out through a series of city environmental maintenance, arrangement, and upkeep activities spread across various areas of Jakarta. Participant recruitment will be conducted in stages throughout 2026.
Pramono emphasised that participants in the labour-intensive programme will not be appointed as employees of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government or as Individual Other Service Providers (PJLP). They will work through third parties or appointed implementers tasked with running each activity.
To date, four regional agencies are ready to open job opportunities through the labour-intensive scheme: the Bina Marga Agency, the Parks and Urban Forest Agency, the Water Resources Agency, and the Environmental Agency. Through this programme, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government hopes that unemployed residents can obtain a temporary source of income while participating in efforts to maintain the cleanliness, beauty, and environmental quality of Jakarta.
