DKI Jakarta news: Dukuh Atas bridge to Padat Karya programme

Governor Pramono Anung expressed confidence that the newly revitalised Jalan H.R Rasuna Said will become a new icon for Jakarta. “I am sure this road will become a new landmark for Jakarta because everyone sees it is now much more organised and tidier, even with specially installed orchids at the end,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Sunday.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has officially laid the first stone for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian facility, a circular structure known as the Cincin Donat (Doughnut Ring) Bridge in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, with completion targeted for 2028. “I officially declare the construction of the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck has begun. Hopefully, this development will improve Jakarta’s transportation,” Governor Pramono Anung said in Jakarta on Sunday.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will provide free entry to all tourist sites and free public transport on 22, 27, and 28 June 2026 for both Jakarta residents and visitors from outside the city. Governor Pramono Anung said the free access covers not only Ancol but also Ragunan Zoo, museums, and transport services managed by the provincial government, such as MRT Jakarta, Transjakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has recorded 100,000 applicants for jobs provided through the Padat Karya (Labour-Intensive) Programme. “There are 37 job vacancies opened and as of today there are 100,000 applicants,” said Marulina Dewi, Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency, in Jakarta on Sunday.

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will implement a special fare of Rp1 for passengers on 22, 27, and 28 June to support the 499th anniversary of DKI Jakarta. “We are applying a special fare of Rp1 for MRT Jakarta passengers on 22, 27, and 28 June,” said PT MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
