The Jakarta Provincial Government has launched a subsidised staple-food package redemption programme at Balai Warga Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, as part of efforts to ensure basic needs are more accessible to residents. All packages can be redeemed by residents at Rp100,000 per package. The programme is described as a display of care and a sharing endeavour to make basic necessities more affordable for the public, according to Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo at Balai Warga Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Thursday. Pramono explained that the activity is the result of a collaboration between the regional state-owned enterprise Perumda Pasar Jaya and the Prakarsa Warga community. In addition, the programme aims to maintain food stability in Jakarta and to share with residents. Pramono noted that the staple-food packages distributed are valued at Rp150,000, but residents only need to pay Rp100,000. In this programme, 500 subsidised staple-food packages were distributed. The activity took place across five city regions and one regency in Jakarta, with each area receiving 1,000 packages. The staple-food package, said Agus Himawan Widiyanto, President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, consists of five kilograms of premium rice, two litres of cooking oil, one kilogram of flour and one kilogram of sugar, which can be redeemed for Rp100,000.
