DKI Jakarta Issues Circular on Leave for Accompanying Children on First Day of School
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Regional Secretary of the Jakarta Provincial Government has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 22/SE/2026 concerning Leave Permits for Escorting Children on the First Day of School.
“The DKI Jakarta Government, through the Regional Secretary’s Circular Number 22/SE/2026 on permits to escort children to school, allows this on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, until 12.00 noon at the latest; it has been regulated in detail,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at City Hall on Monday.
The circular was issued as a follow-up to Circular Letter Number 17 of 2026 from the Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN.
Chico Hakim, Special Staff to the Jakarta Governor for Public Communication, said the policy reflects Governor Pramono Anung’s commitment to supporting a balance between official duties and family responsibilities.
“We want fathers and ASN (civil servant) parents to be able to be present calmly at an important moment in their children’s lives, namely the first day of school after the long holiday,” said Chico.
According to him, this is a simple yet meaningful step to strengthen family bonds without reducing the quality of services provided to Jakarta’s residents.
Leave requests must be submitted in writing to the employee’s direct supervisor, accompanied by clear real-time photographic evidence showing the face and/or body via an agreed timestamp application (such as Camera Timestamp or Notecamp Lite).
The notation “escorting child on the first day of school” must be entered into the attendance system no later than Friday, 17 July 2026.
Supervision will be carried out by the direct supervisor and the Personnel Management Official of each regional apparatus.
Chico also urged all civil servants to make use of this opportunity responsibly and professionally.
The implementation of the circular will be reported to the Governor through the Head of the Regional Personnel Board no later than Monday, 20 July 2026.
