JAKARTA – Registration for the third cluster of the 2026 Free Mudik programme administered by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially opened on Saturday, 28 February 2026. This phase represents the final opportunity for residents wishing to return to their hometowns without using private vehicles.

The free mudik programme has been reintroduced as a safer alternative for Lebaran travel whilst simultaneously reducing vehicle congestion during the mudik exodus.

Registration is conducted online through the official portal mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id and is organised by destination cluster.

The third cluster is scheduled to run from 28 February to 2 March 2026.

Syafrin Liputo, Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department, emphasised that prospective participants must follow the prescribed schedule to ensure smooth administrative processing.

“Each registrant may add a maximum of three family members under a single family card. The identification number registered must correspond with the NIK on the original identity card,” he stated in a written statement released on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Additionally, participants must prepare documents including a family card, a DKI Jakarta identity card (preferred), and a vehicle registration certificate for those bringing motorcycles under the free motorcycle mudik programme.

Following online registration, participants must undergo direct verification at designated locations.

For cluster 3 of the DKI Jakarta Free Mudik programme 2026, buses have been arranged to various cities on Java Island.

Available destinations include Wonogiri, Kediri, Malang, Wonosobo, Purwokerto, Semarang, and Sidoarjo.

The cluster division has been implemented to regulate quotas and streamline the registration process, allowing residents to select destinations according to available schedules.

Participant verification for the third cluster is scheduled to take place from 3–5 March 2026.

Participants who fail to appear according to schedule will be considered to have withdrawn, with their quota transferred to other registrants.

Verification locations are distributed across five Jakarta administrative city areas—Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta—through the respective regional transportation sub-office branches and designated service points.

With limited quotas and high public interest, prospective participants are urged to register immediately for the third cluster to avoid missing this year’s free mudik programme opportunity.
