DKI Jakarta Education Department Issues Circular on Graduation Ceremonies, Schools Must Not Burden Parents

The Jakarta Provincial Education Department (Disdik DKI) has issued Circular No. 56/SE/2026 regarding graduation ceremonies for early childhood education (PAUD), primary, secondary, high school, and vocational schools. The regulation states that schools must not make graduation ceremonies compulsory or impose financial burdens on parents.

In the circular signed by Disdik DKI Head Nahdiana, schools are permitted to hold graduation ceremonies, but these must not place a burden on parents or guardians.

“Schools must not make graduation ceremonies compulsory or burden parents/guardians,” Nahdiana stated in the circular.

The circular also recommends that graduation ceremonies be held on school premises, conducted simply without any fees or discrimination.

“Graduation ceremonies should be held primarily on school premises, simply without any fees or discrimination,” Nahdiana said.
