DKI Jakarta DPRD Member Kenneth Accompanies Governor Pramono on Inspection of Latumenten Flyover, Progress Reaches 55%
The construction of the Latumenten Flyover in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, is being accelerated with a target completion date of December 2026. The infrastructure, which is expected to reduce traffic congestion by up to 40 per cent, was directly inspected by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, alongside Jakarta DPRD member Hardiyandum Kenneth, today.
“The progress of the Latumenten Flyover is still on track; hopefully, it can be completed by December 2026,” Kenneth stated in his remarks on Thursday (2/7/2026).
The PDI Perjuangan legislator, affectionately known as Bang Kent, revealed that the development of the Latumenten Flyover originated from the concerns of residents living near the railway crossing. He noted that residents had requested his assistance in finding a solution to the long-standing congestion issues.
“During my working visit to this area (Latumenten) in 2024, residents requested the construction of a flyover to alleviate the congestion caused by heavy railway crossing traffic,” said the member of the Jakarta DPRD Commission C.
As the Jakarta Provincial Government did not have the budget for the flyover at that time, Kent requested a feasibility study be conducted. Following the completion of the study, the Latumenten Flyover project entered the tender process and construction commenced in late 2025.
“Ultimately, I requested a study regarding this issue. After that, it entered the tender process, and now the results are becoming visible. Hopefully, it can be completed on time as the Governor expects,” said the Chairman of IKAL PPRA LXII Lemhannas RI.
Kent revealed that the Latumenten Flyover will be integrated with various modes of public transport, ranging from the KRL Commuter Line to Transjakarta. As an intermodal connection, a skywalk will be built, equipped with lifts, disability-friendly pedestrian bridges, and a Transjakarta bus stop integrated with the surrounding area.
“The concept is designed to provide ease for all road users, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and people carrying goods or strollers. The presence of lifts on the pedestrian bridge will facilitate access to the Transjakarta stop without the need to use stairs,” he said.
He added that these facilities are expected to not only smooth public mobility but also enhance the safety and comfort of pedestrians using public transport, as they form part of an intermodal integration system connecting the Latumenten Flyover area with Transjakarta, JakLingko, and Commuter Line services. Through this concept, intermodal transfers are expected to become safer, more comfortable, and more efficient.
“The presence of these integration facilities is expected to not only smooth the flow of vehicles but also increase the comfort of pedestrians transferring between modes of transport. With a skywalk directly connected to the Transjakarta stop and KRL Station, the public will no longer need to cross in the middle of heavy traffic,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, explained that the Latumenten Flyover construction uses a budget of Rp 259 billion. He stated that construction progress has reached 55.2 per cent and is targeted for completion by 15 December 2026.
Echoing Kent, Pramono mentioned that the Latumenten Flyover is one of the most anticipated infrastructure projects by residents because it is located in an area that has long been a congestion hotspot.
“The Latumenten Flyover is one of the most awaited flyovers in Jakarta. Why? Because if you look here in the morning, afternoon, or evening, the congestion is very high,” said Pramlamo.
Once the flyover is completed, Pramono continued, the Jakarta Provincial Government also plans to close the level railway crossing in the area. This step is intended to ensure that traffic flow is no longer interrupted by the opening and closing of the crossing, while also increasing road user safety.
He noted that all vehicles will eventually be directed to use the flyover so they no longer intersect directly with the railway tracks.
“Thus, everyone will have to go up so that the level railway crossing is no longer disrupted and does not cause accidents like what previously occurred in Bekasi,” said Pramono.
Pramono hopes the presence of the Latumenten Flyover can significantly reduce congestion and strengthen public transport integration in the West Jakarta area. He also hopes the construction can be completed according to the target so it can be utilised by the community by the end of the year.
In addition to reducing vehicle queues at the level crossing, this project is also expected to cut travel time for road users traversing the Latumenten and Grogol areas.
Regarding the construction of the Latumenten Flyover, the Deputy Head of Grogol Petamburan District, Pradana Putra, expressed his gratitude to the Jakarta Provincial Government and Hardiyanto Kenneth. He stated that the construction of the flyover is one of the residents’ aspirations to overcome congestion that has finally been realised by the government.
“This has been a wait for residents for decades. Alhamdulillah, it has been realised. Thank you to the Council Member and the Governor. Hopefully, this flyover will be the answer to the congestion problem,” concluded Pradana Putra.
