DKI Jakarta DPRD Member Kenneth Accompanies Governor Pramono on Inspection of Latumenten Flyover, Progress Reaches 55%

The construction project for the Latumenten Flyover in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, is being accelerated and is targeted for completion in December 2026. The infrastructure, touted to reduce traffic congestion by up to 40 per cent, was inspected directly by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung alongside DKI Jakarta DPRD member Hardiyanto Kenneth today. “The Latumenten Flyover progress is still on track, hopefully it can be completed by December 2026,” said Kenneth in his statement on Thursday (2/7/2026). The PDI Perjuangan legislator revealed that the construction of the Latumenten Flyover stemmed from the concerns of residents living around the railway crossing. According to him, residents asked him to find a solution to alleviate the traffic congestion, which had become a perennial problem. “In 2024, I had a working visit to this area (Latumenten) during recess. Residents then requested a flyover be built to ease congestion caused by the busy railway crossing,” said the member of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Because at that time the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government did not have the budget to build a flyover, Kent then requested that a study be conducted first on the problem. After the study was completed, the Latumenten Flyover project entered the tender process and began construction at the end of 2025. “Finally, I asked for a study to be made regarding this problem. After that, it entered the tender process and now the results are starting to show. Hopefully, it can be completed on time as the Governor expects,” said the Chairman of IKAL PPRA LXII Lemhannas RI. Kent revealed that the Latumenten Flyover will later be integrated with various public transport modes, ranging from the KRL Commuter Line to Transjakarta. As an intermodal connector, a skywalk will be built equipped with lifts, a disability-friendly pedestrian bridge (JPO), and a Transjakarta bus stop integrated with the surrounding area. “So the concept is designed to provide convenience for all road users, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and people carrying goods or baby strollers. The presence of a lift on the JPO will facilitate access to the Transjakarta bus stop without having to use stairs,” he said. According to him, the presence of these facilities is expected not only to smooth public mobility but also to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians using public transport, as it becomes part of the intermodal integration system connecting the Latumenten Flyover area with Transjakarta, JakLingko, and Commuter Line services. Through this concept, the transfer between transport modes is expected to be safer, more comfortable, and efficient. “The presence of these integration facilities is expected not only to smooth vehicle flow but also to improve the comfort of pedestrians switching transport modes. With the skywalk directly connected to the Transjakarta bus stop and the KRL Station, the public will no longer need to cross amidst heavy traffic flow,” he explained. Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung explained that the construction of the Latumenten Flyover uses a budget of Rp 259 billion. He said the construction progress has reached 55.2 per cent and is targeted for completion on 15 December 2026. Echoing Kent, Pramono stated that the Latumenten Flyover is one of the most anticipated infrastructure projects by residents because it is located in an area that has long been a congestion hotspot. “This Latumenten Flyover is one of the most awaited flyovers in Jakarta. Why? Because here, whether you look in the morning, afternoon, or evening, the traffic jam is very severe,” said Pramono. After the flyover is completed, Pramono continued, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also plans to close the level railway crossing in the area. This measure is being taken so that traffic flow is no longer hampered by the opening and closing of the crossing, while also improving road user safety. According to him, all vehicles will later be directed to pass over the flyover so they no longer directly intersect with the railway line. “So that way, everyone must go up so that the level railway crossing is no longer disrupted and also does not cause accidents like the one that happened in Bekasi some time ago,” said Pramono. Pramono hopes the existence of the Latumenten Flyover can significantly reduce congestion while strengthening public transport integration in the West Jakarta area. He also hopes the flyover construction can be completed on target so it can be immediately utilised by the public by the end of the year. Besides reducing vehicle queues at the level crossing, this project is also expected to cut travel time for road users passing through the Latumenten and Grogol areas. For the construction of the Latumenten Flyover, Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Deputy Head Pradana Putra expressed his gratitude to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Hardiyanto Kenneth. According to him, the flyover construction is one of the residents’ aspirations to overcome congestion that has finally been realised by the government. “This has been a decades-long wait for the residents. Alhamdulillah, it has been realised. Thank you, Council Member and Governor. Hopefully, this flyover can be the answer to the traffic congestion problem,” Pradana concluded.
