JAKARTA – Commission C of DKI Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council has assessed that the Jakarta Provincial Government’s revenue management remains on track, though it still requires improvements and innovations amid dynamic economic challenges. Commission C member Suhud Alynudin stated that Jakarta’s primary revenue sources remain taxes and local levies, which continue to form the largest part of the regional income structure. ‘So far, our assessment is that revenue management is still on track, though we can still push for improvements and increases. These efforts are ongoing to boost Jakarta’s regional revenue,’ Suhud said in an exclusive interview on Monday, 1 June 2026. Suhud added that increasing regional revenue is crucial to maintain Jakarta’s fiscal space for supporting infrastructure development and public services. ‘These efforts are particularly needed given the current challenging economic conditions,’ he said. He added that key to maintaining and boosting regional revenue lies in policy breakthroughs, including innovations in asset management and new revenue sources. ‘There is the term “creative financing” as a breakthrough effort to create or drive higher revenue,’ he said. Suhud noted that such innovations could form part of DKI Jakarta’s medium-term strategy to strengthen regional fiscal capacity, especially amid rising infrastructure financing needs. However, he cautioned that Jakarta’s primary revenue base remains the tax sector, which must be optimally managed to prevent stagnation. Amid these challenges, Commission C of DKI Jakarta DPRD stressed that strengthening the regional revenue system must remain a top priority, without neglecting innovations and breakthroughs to expand future revenue sources.
