DKI Jakarta Achieves First Place for Creative Finance in Java-Bali Region 2026
The Province of DKI Jakarta has achieved a brilliant milestone by winning first place in the creative finance category at the 2026 Regional Java-Bali Outstanding Local Government Awards. This prestigious award serves as tangible evidence of the capital’s success in implementing progressive and independent financing innovations.
The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, stated that this award is the result of Jakarta’s consistency in applying financing schemes outside of conventional channels. He noted that local governments are now required to move away from sole reliance on limited state and regional budget allocations.
“Indeed, the time has come for us to no longer rely solely on the APBN (State Budget) or APBD (Regional Budget). We have implemented creative finance twice, and that is why Jakarta received this award in this category due to the many innovations we have undertaken,” said Rano Karno after receiving the award at the Marriott Hotel, Sleman, DIY, on Thursday night.
Rano emphasised that the current focus of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is to optimise revenue potential and efficiency through the digitalisation of the public sector. This transformation encompasses everything from regional banking sectors to integrated public service systems.
He cited how Bank Jakarta is being continuously pushed towards a digital ecosystem to remain relevant in the modern era. Furthermore, government administrative systems, ranging from audit processes to the integration of National Identity Card (KTP) data, are now operating on a digital basis within the ‘Digital City’ framework.
“Everything in Jakarta is now part of the Digital City. Government administration is now digitally audited, and KTP data integration is operational. This is part of our creativity in regional management,” Rames added.
Facing future challenges, Rano asserted that Jakarta bears a significant responsibility as the driving force for the agglomeration region. The dynamics of the capital’s development are considered highly dependent on integration with surrounding buffer areas such as Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Banten.
Notably, the second position in the provincial Creative Finance category was achieved by Banten Province. Rano viewed this as a positive signal of strong inter-provincial synergy within the region.
