Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Office (PPKUKM), is inviting all business actors or industries to actively participate in the 2026 Economic Census as part of efforts to support Jakarta as a global city.

“Active participation by business actors is not merely an obligation in data collection, but a real contribution to building Jakarta as an advanced, inclusive, and highly competitive global city,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta PPKUKM, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, during a podcast in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to her, in the context of DKI Jakarta’s economy, the industrial sector, particularly manufacturing, is one of the main pillars that provides a significant contribution and ranks second after the trade sector in Jakarta’s economic structure.

Data from the DKI Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that in 2025, the industrial business field supports 22.04 percent of Jakarta’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB), with the manufacturing industry contributing 11.13 percent.

“This shows that industry is very vital in maintaining stability and driving Jakarta’s economic growth as the national economic activity centre,” said Elisabeth.

She also stated that the 2026 Economic Census is a strategic national instrument that provides basic data on all economic activities.

Therefore, she continued, as part of the regional apparatus, the DKI PPKUKM Office is committed to collaborating and fully supporting the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census.

“This collaboration is not only a form of support for the national programme but also a concrete step in strengthening the foundation for directed and data-based economic development planning in Jakarta,” explained Elisabeth.

She mentioned that one of the efforts to encourage industry participation in the census is by holding socialisation activities.

Elisabeth hopes that through these socialisation activities, industrial business actors can gain a comprehensive understanding of the 2026 Economic Census implementation, while also understanding the roles and contributions needed from economic actors in Jakarta.

“The data provided will serve as the basis for compiling more targeted government policies, which ultimately also support the growth, development, and sustainability of the business world itself,” stated Elisabeth.
