DKI integrates family programmes into Satyagatra

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control (PPAPP) has integrated family-related programmes into a service platform called the Prosperous Family Service Centre (PPKS), known as Satyagatra, as an effort to build family resilience.

“We can integrate programmes that share the same goal — how we can build families that are resilient, empowered, and able to serve as a safe place for all their members,” said Dwi Oktavia, Head of the DKI Jakarta PPAPP Office, during an online seminar entitled “Satyagatra Socialisation” on Tuesday.

She said Satyagatra can accompany families in Jakarta, starting from information services, education, consultation and counselling, as well as family assistance.

Satyagatra, according to Dwi, provides various services, including counselling for toddlers and children, pre-marital counselling for prospective brides and grooms, adolescent counselling, family planning and reproductive health counselling, and family economic empowerment.

“This is one opportunity for us to collaborate between the programmes or values found in the Family Information and Consultation Centre (PIK Keluarga), which is fostered through the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) movement, and Satyagatra,” Dwi explained.

Furthermore, she reminded that family development is an important pillar for creating healthy, resilient and empowered human resources.

According to her, everything begins with the family, and therefore families must be able to provide a good environment, good communication, and good opportunities for growth and development for their children.

“Success in creating a superior generation very much depends on how we can build families with good family resilience,” said Dwi.
