Jakarta (ANTARA) – The DKI Jakarta Information Commission (KI) has called for the establishment of Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) structures in the health sector to be organised hierarchically down to the grassroots level, making it easier for the public to obtain clear and measurable access to information.

“The PPID structure must be established not only at the North Jakarta Health Sub-office (Sudinkes), but also extending to primary health centres (puskesmas) and sub-centres,” stated Harry Ara Hutabarat, Chairman of the DKI Information Commission, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The proposal was presented during a quality improvement session on self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) completion in e-monitoring and evaluation (E-Monev) at the North Jakarta Health Sub-office on Tuesday 17 March.

“Through this session, the DKI Information Commission hopes that public bodies, particularly in the health sector, can continue to improve the quality of public information disclosure,” said Harry.

He noted that at the primary health centre and sub-centre levels, the PPID structure could be simplified, comprising only implementing PPID officers.

According to him, this role would enable health service units to directly receive and respond to public information requests.

Should the public lodge objections to information services provided, they can appeal to the PPID supervisor at the North Jakarta Health Sub-office level.

Furthermore, in implementing E-Monev, Harry stated that primary health centres and sub-centres can participate as subjects, just like the health sub-offices and other public bodies in Jakarta.

“In E-Monev, primary health centres and sub-centres can be participants, so matters related to the governance of their public information services must be improved,” said Harry.

He outlined at least six assessment indicators in E-Monev that public bodies must consider: information quality, facilities and infrastructure, types of information, information services, organisational commitment, and digitalisation aspects.

Meanwhile, Murniasih Hutapea, Head of the North Jakarta Health Sub-office, reaffirmed her commitment to encouraging all health facilities in the North Jakarta region to become informationally transparent by 2026.

“Thank you for these valuable inputs. We will work to ensure that all health facilities in North Jakarta become informationally transparent by 2026,” said Murniasih.

She further revealed that her office still has approximately five months to conduct various preparations and improvements, including team formation and securing necessary administrative support.

“If documents or other matters are needed, we will prepare them. First, we will establish the team. Our target is to achieve transparency this year,” stated Murniasih.
