DKI in review: sacrificial animals and LRT route extension
Jakarta — The past week saw several government-related developments in Jakarta, ranging from the procurement of sacrificial animals to the extension of the light rapid transit (LRT) route.

- DKI identifies Central Java, East Java and West Java as largest suppliers of sacrificial animals
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has identified Central Java, West Java, and East Java as the provinces supplying the largest quantities of sacrificial animals to Jakarta ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026.
“Most of the sacrificial animals coming into Jakarta before this Eid al-Adha are indeed from Central Java, East Java, and West Java,” said Hasudungan A. Sidabalok, Head of the DKI Jakarta Food Security, Fisheries and Agriculture Service, during an inspection of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026 at Perumda Dharma Jaya in East Jakarta on Thursday.
- DKI decides to extend LRT route to Velodrome–Dukuh Atas
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to extend the LRT route from Velodrome–Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, with a total length of 14.2 kilometres.
Governor Pramono explained that the route length will increase by two kilometres with the addition of the Manggarai–Dukuh Atas segment, up from the previous 12.2 kilometres on the Velodrome–Manggarai route.
- Governor demands strict action against Jakcard resellers on social media
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo has insisted that individuals selling Jakcard — the free public transportation card issued by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government — on social media platform X face strict enforcement action.
“I happen to be following this and I am requesting that whoever is doing this, including if there are indications of internal involvement, must be taken strict action against,” Pramono said at City Hall on Wednesday.
- Governor inaugurates 891 civil servants in DKI Jakarta provincial government
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo will inaugurate 891 civil servants (ASN) within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on Wednesday.
The officials being inaugurated range from echelon 2 to echelon 4 positions within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
“There will be inaugurations, and the numbers are quite substantial. It is not only echelon 2 positions, but predominantly echelon 3 and echelon 4 positions,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday.
- DKI Governor: Stable prices drive regions outside capital to purchase sacrificial animals in Jakarta
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that stable sacrificial animal prices have prompted several regions outside the capital to purchase these animals in Jakarta.
According to Pramono, this demonstrates that regional state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have adequately prepared sacrificial animals.
