Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government’s Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Department (PPKUKM DKI) is conducting integrated coaching for micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors through the Jakpreneur system to make them increasingly independent and developed.

“Participants can access training, mentoring, licensing, marketing, and funding access through the Jakpreneur system,” said the Head of DKI Jakarta’s PPKUKM Department, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

She explained that the coaching covers hard and soft skills training, halal facilitation, intellectual property rights (IPR), and support for offline and online marketing.

“The coaching is carried out comprehensively, from training to marketing,” said Elisabeth.

According to Satu Data Jakarta, 31,325 new MSMEs were registered in Jakpreneur in 2024, a 6.29 percent decrease from 2023.

By region, South Jakarta recorded the highest number of registrations, with 11,473 new MSMEs, surpassing other areas such as East Jakarta with 6,241 new MSMEs and Central Jakarta with 5,190 new MSMEs.

In terms of coaching, the majority of MSMEs are coached by the Sub-Directorate of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs, totalling 27,975 MSMEs.

According to her, the evaluation of the programme should not stop at the number of training participants but must also be able to produce independent and developing business actors.

“Jakpreneur training must produce business actors who truly develop,” said Nova.

She also assessed that MSME coaching needs to be strengthened through a continuous mentoring system, including the development of business incubators.

“Business incubators and collaboration with academics are needed to create strong entrepreneurs,” revealed Nova.
