DKI Governor Targets CSR Funds for Jakarta Islamic Centre Mosque Revitalisation After Four-Year Delay
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the revitalisation of the Jakarta Islamic Centre (JIC) Grand Mosque in Koja, North Jakarta, will be carried out. “For the Islamic Centre or mosque in North Jakarta, the calculation process is currently underway for immediate repairs and renovation,” Pramono said after inaugurating the Labschool Ciracas junior and senior high school buildings in East Jakarta on Thursday (16/7/2026). The Jakarta Provincial Government is completing the calculation process as an initial stage, given that the mosque suffered a fire in 2022 and has gone too long without comprehensive treatment. Pramono is committed to realising the revitalisation as soon as possible so that the mosque can be used optimally again. The Jakarta Provincial Government is also open to cooperation with external parties to support the revitalisation process. “We are open to working with external parties. I will announce the external party later. As for what it is, in the private sector there is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), but it is more or less like that,” Pramono explained. He added that there is already a party willing to assist with the repair and revitalisation of the Jakarta Islamic Centre Grand Mosque. “Alhamdulillah, now there is someone willing to repair and renovate the mosque,” Pramono said. The dome of the Jakarta Islamic Centre Grand Mosque on Jalan Kramat Raya, Tugu Utara, Koja, collapsed during a fire, causing panic among local residents on Wednesday (19/10/2022).
