DKI Environment Agency says JEFF 2026 encourages citizen participation in protecting the environment
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency, Dudi Gardesi, stated that the Jakarta Eco Future Festival (JEFF) 2026, held at City Hall on 3-4 July 2026, encourages citizen participation in protecting Jakarta’s environment. “Protecting the environment is not just the government’s task, but a collective movement. Through JEFF 2026, we want to invite residents to come, see for themselves, discuss, and take inspiration to start real action from their immediate surroundings,” Dudi said in Jakarta on Wednesday. Carrying the theme “Real Action, Felt Impact”, the festival serves as an open space for residents to learn, discuss, collaborate, and directly experience various environmental movements for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Jakarta. Over two days, visitors can enjoy a range of interesting agendas, including the launch of the Early Warning System (EWS) on the Jakarta Air Website, the presentation of a MURI Record Charter for simultaneous Eco Enzyme production, the inauguration of the reactivated Waste Station or City Hall Waste Bank, environmental discussion forums, exhibitions, career talks, short film screenings, and eco-friendly creative workshops. JEFF 2026 also presents various activities close to daily life, such as the “Not About Waste” exhibition, the talk show “Caring for Jakarta, Starting with Our Steps”, a screening of the short film “His Name is Harun”, and a make-up workshop. Additionally, there will be empty skincare container management with Paragon, accessory making from plastic waste with Rue, training on making reusable cloth sanitary pads with Daridiri, and a children’s activity, “Drawing Future Jakarta with Bobo”. Dudi expressed hope that JEFF 2026 will not only be a festival but also an experience that moves residents to participate in protecting Jakarta. “We invite all residents to come to JEFF 2026. Let us make City Hall a space to meet, learn, and start small steps whose impact can be greatly felt for Jakarta’s future,” he said.
