DKI DPRD Highlights Food Security, Khoirudin: Jakarta Must Have Execution Authority

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, stated the importance of strengthening food security in the capital amid global dynamics, particularly conflicts in the Middle East region. “Amid the Middle East situation which is not going well and is in conflict, hopefully we will secure our food security in Jakarta,” said Khoirudin at the DKI DPRD Building, Monday (30/3). He mentioned that the DPRD is overseeing the implementation of Law No. 2 of 2024, particularly Article 19 which regulates Jakarta’s special status. In that regulation, there are several authorities that must be directly executed by the regional government. “Insya Allah, we are overseeing the mandate of Law 2/2024 Article 19 regarding Jakarta’s special status and 15 special authorities so that this becomes Jakarta’s authority in executing,” he emphasised. He explained that the central government has a role in setting norms, standards, procedures, and criteria. Meanwhile, policy implementation in the field is the responsibility of the regional government. “Because the central government is limited to norms, standards, procedures, criteria. Execution from Jakarta. And that must be reflected in the Regional Regulation,” he continued.
