DKI DPRD Chairman Replaced, PKS Denies Internal Conflict Rumours

The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has issued Decree Number 179/SKEP/DPP-PKS/2026, deciding to replace the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, a position currently held by Khoirudin.

The PKS Faction Chairman in the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Muhammad Taufik Zoelkifli (MTZ), stated that the decree was issued through deliberations among the leadership at the DPP level. His side is merely following up on the decision at the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) and faction levels.

“So if there is indeed a change, we listen and obey,” said MTZ when confirmed about the decree in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

The Chairman of the PKS Jakarta Regional Advisory Council also denied any internal conflicts in the replacement of the DPRD Chairman position. According to MTZ, the change is solely to strengthen consolidation.

“So there was already a change from the PKS Party President previously, and then the faction chairman was also replaced, right? It was Mr Ismail before, now it’s me. Well, that’s just a series of that,” said MTZ.

He explained that the replacement is also a strategy to face the 2029 General Elections (Pemilu). According to MTZ, ahead of the political year, PKS must carry out even stronger consolidation. “So the first thing we fix is that, consolidate everything first.”

MTZ stated that PKS Jakarta also wants to intensify programmes that have a direct impact on the community. On the other hand, PKS public officials will be encouraged to have greater participation.
