DKI DPRD Chairman Hopes Ragunan Ticket Prices Will Not Increase

The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, accompanied by the Head of the Ragunan Wildlife Park Management Unit, Endah Rumiyati, inspected Taman Margasatwa Ragunan (TMR) in South Jakarta today. Khoirudin appreciated the TMR area, which he deemed easily accessible.

“Today, Wednesday 25 March, I had the opportunity to deliberately visit and inspect TMR, Taman Margasatwa Ragunan. Yes, I was accompanied by Mrs Endah, the leader here at Ragunan, to ensure that the public can easily access it, with easy access cards. And earlier I tried it, and it turns out just a slight touch opens it. And there’s another option using a barcode, right, Mrs? And this makes it easier for Jakarta residents,” Khoirudin said at Taman Margasatwa Ragunan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Khoirudin also appreciated the security at Ragunan, which involves various elements such as the police. He also praised the cleanliness of the TMR area.

“I appreciate Mrs Endah, the leader of TMR Ragunan. Because earlier when I entered, it’s not just internal security, there are police, vital object police too, Obvit also involved, TNI elements as well, and inside there’s also internal Ragunan security guards. And insya Allah, hopefully it’s safe and controlled, providing comfort for all Jakarta residents. And the cleanliness is extraordinary even with many visitors. And I see rubbish bins everywhere, making it easy for visitors to dispose of waste,” he said.

He also appreciated the presence of a lactation room at Ragunan. According to him, public areas like Ragunan need enclosed spaces for breastfeeding mothers.

“This is a service for breastfeeding mothers. This is great because indeed, you can’t do it in public areas, it has to be in an enclosed space,” he said.

Khoirudin requested that ticket prices to Ragunan not be increased. According to him, Ragunan is a form of public educational service.

“Ragunan is the government’s reciprocal service to residents who have paid taxes. So I ensure that our regional budget, for Ragunan, the entry price, the ticket, should not increase, I ensure that. Because this is a public service. After the public pays taxes, we return it in the form of services at Ragunan and I support that,” he said.

Khoirudin also requested that Ragunan establish a special area for smokers. He made this request in accordance with the regional regulation on smoke-free zones.

“Hopefully in the future, Mrs Endah, in accordance with the latest registration, the latest Perda on KTR, smoke-free zones, there is a special area for smokers. Don’t let active smokers harm passive smokers, other mothers, fathers who don’t smoke, affected by cigarette smoke,” he said.
