DKI DPRD Affirms Commitment to Oversee 15 Special Regional Regulations for Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, has affirmed his commitment to continue overseeing the 15 special regional regulations (Perda) for the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ) to ensure that local government authorities remain protected.
“There are 15 special provisions that we must safeguard so that the rights of the local government are not taken over by the central government,” Khoirudin said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, Article 19 of Law No. 2 of 2024 regarding Jakarta’s special status must be continuously monitored so that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) can exercise its authority without awaiting central government approval.
He also emphasised that, in essence, the central government’s domain is limited to Norms, Standards, Procedures, and Criteria (NSPK), while the execution is carried out by the Pemprov DKI.
“Now, we are overseeing those 15 Perda, which are currently under study and drafting, to ensure that the execution rights remain with the local government,” Khoirudin stated.
Therefore, he said, the Spatial Planning Perda and the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) Perda were approved more quickly to safeguard the execution rights held by the Pemprov DKI.
These special authorities encompass public works and spatial planning, people’s housing and settlement areas, investment, transportation, environmental affairs, industry, tourism and creative economy, trade, and education.
They also include health, culture, population control and family planning, civil administration and vital records, maritime and fisheries, as well as employment.
With these authorities, Jakarta is expected to optimise regional autonomy while strengthening Local Original Revenue (PAD) after no longer holding the status of the capital city.
