DKI Conducts Surprise Inspection of Eid Allowance Payments in North Jakarta
Jakarta – The Jakarta Provincial Labour, Transmigration and Energy Service (Nakertransgi) conducted a surprise inspection of companies in North Jakarta on Monday to ensure they complied with the legal requirement to pay Eid allowances (THR) to employees.
“This THR payment inspection is part of the provincial government’s stringent oversight system to ensure companies comply with regulations regarding their legal obligation to pay THR to workers,” said Syaripudin, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Labour, Transmigration and Energy Service, in Jakarta on Monday.
According to him, the DKI Jakarta region contains more than 500,000 companies of various scales. Consequently, oversight is conducted through sampling visits to selected companies.
Monday’s surprise inspection was the second location visited, with a previous inspection conducted in East Jakarta. “Alhamdulillah, both companies have complied with applicable regulations, including PT SCI, which has been proven to have fulfilled its obligation to pay THR to its workers,” he said.
“We hope all companies can fulfil their THR payment obligations on time in accordance with applicable regulations, so that workers can celebrate Eid with peace of mind alongside their families,” he added.
The inspection was conducted at PT Steel Center Indonesia (SCI), a metal industry services company located on Jalan Agung Karya, Papanggo Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Sunaryo, HR and General Affairs Manager at PT Steel Center Indonesia, stated that the company had distributed THR to all employees well in advance, specifically 14 days before Eid.
The company welcomed the visit from officials of Nakertransgi and its district office to verify THR distribution to employees.
An employee of PT Steel Center Indonesia, Jian Pratama (37), confirmed that all workers had received THR two weeks before Eid.
“Direct government oversight is very positive for workers. We greatly appreciate it – regulations are not only created but also monitored for implementation,” he said.
