DKI Civil Policing Unit Returns to House Renovation Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Civil Policing Unit (Satpol PP) of DKI Jakarta has resumed its house renovation programme, this time at Jalan Pulo Gundul, Tanah Tinggi Village, Johar Baru District, central Jakarta.
Satriadi Gunawan, head of DKI Jakarta’s Satpol PP, stated that the programme originated from the awareness of Satpol PP members in Johar Baru District during a territorial inspection conducted through the weekly Blessed Friday activity, where they discovered a residential property in uninhabitable condition.
“The members voluntarily pooled their own resources to help build and renovate the house,” he said in Jakarta on Monday.
Previously, the property had a bare earth floor without ceramics, lacked electrical connections, and had no adequate toilet and bathing facilities.
Satriadi emphasised that the house renovation programme demonstrates that Satpol PP’s role extends beyond enforcing local regulations to encompass humanitarian concerns and social responsibility towards the community.
The homeowner, Fadillah, expressed gratitude and hopes that Satpol PP will continue to provide the best service to residents.
The house renovation addressed a property occupied by three family heads comprising eight people, two of whom are persons with disabilities. The building, approximately 40 years old, suffered from a leaking roof, inadequate bathroom facilities, unplastered walls, substandard ceiling, and non-standard electrical installations.
The renovation work, carried out between February and April 2026, was funded by 70 million rupiah in voluntary contributions from DKI Satpol PP members.
