DKI ASN Caught Using Official Vehicle with Swapped Licence Plate, Pramono: We Will Impose Sanctions
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung has emphasised that there will be no tolerance for the misuse of official vehicles by DKI Jakarta civil servants (ASN).
He stated that he had seen the viral video related to the matter and assured that sanctions have been imposed on the ASN involved.
“I happened to see it myself, and earlier the Secretary to the Governor also reported it; we will definitely issue a reprimand for that,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (7/4).
According to him, the use of official vehicles must comply with regulations, including the vehicle’s licence plate identity, which must not be manipulated.
“If it is indeed for official travel, then it should be official travel,” Pramono stated.
The PDIP politician emphasised that changing the vehicle’s licence plate actually shows awareness of the violation by the ASN in question.
“When confronted by authorities, it’s very clear—the difference between regret and lack thereof is slim,” he said.
Continuing, DKI Jakarta Secretary Uus Kuswanto explained that the use of the viral official vehicle occurred during a long holiday and was not for formal official travel.
“Based on the report from the Head of BPAD (Regional Asset Management Agency), the individual was coincidentally carrying out content activities for promotion during the holiday,” said Uus.
He noted that the activity was related to DKI Provincial Government assets located in Cimacan, Bogor.
However, the main issue is not the use of the vehicle, but the change of the vehicle’s licence plate from red to white.
“The problem is that the vehicle’s plate was changed to a white plate,” Uus revealed.
He stated that the DKI ASN involved is from the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for the Data and Information Centre (Pusdatin) of the Regional Asset Management Agency.
“A reprimand has already been given to ensure it does not happen again,” he said.
Previously, a video went viral on social media showing the misuse of an official vehicle by a civil servant (ASN) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) for non-official purposes.
In the video, a police officer stops a car with a private plate number B 1732 PQG in the Puncak area of Bogor.
The police then asked for the vehicle’s original plate after checking the documents. Upon inspection, the driver finally admitted to swapping the official vehicle’s plate.
