DKI Anticipates Surge in Visits to Tourist Spots During Eid Holiday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is taking several steps to anticipate the surge in visits to tourist locations in the capital during the 2026 Eid holiday period. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that his side has held coordination meetings several times with the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and tourist site managers. “We have conducted coordination, and this is a recurring matter. Therefore, Satpol PP apparatus will work together with regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) that manage the sites, for example, Ragunan, Ancol, Monas, museums, and so on (for supervision),” Pramono told reporters at the Jakarta City Hall pendopo on Saturday. He is also optimistic that the managers of tourist locations in Jakarta are accustomed to handling surges in tourists during the holiday season. “I am confident there will be nothing extraordinary, because it is indeed managed well,” Pramono stated. Furthermore, Pramono highlighted the enthusiasm of the public in visiting new parks in the Jakarta area, which can also serve as references for Eid holiday tourism. “Now, what’s buzzing is people coming to the new parks, including Taman Bendera Pusaka, which apparently is very popular with residents because it’s free and the facilities are complete,” Pramono concluded.
