DJPb: Central Government Expenditure in South Sulawesi As of April 2026 Reaches Rp6.63 Trillion

Makassar — The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) within the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) for South Sulawesi (Sulsel) said Central Government Expenditure (BPP) in the province reached Rp6.63 trillion as of April 2026. ‘For Central Government spending in South Sulawesi, this has been realised at Rp6.63 trillion from a ceiling set at Rp24.26 trillion, or about 27.33 percent,’ said Hari Utomo, head of the Regional Office of DJPb Kemenkeu Sulsel, in Makassar on Wednesday.

He noted that this government spending is the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025. Budget management, he said, is directed to support national development priorities, including various priority programmes of ministries and agencies that have undergone restructuring. ‘This policy aims to ensure national expenditure remains effective, efficient and delivers real impact for the public,’ he said.

As for expenditures on staff wages, Central Government in South Sulawesi has realised Rp4.20 trillion or 36.38 percent of the Rp11.53 trillion ceiling. The budget is used to fund salaries, allowances, meal allowances, and overtime for about 50,000 personnel of the TNI and Polri, 14,000 teachers and lecturers, 35,000 civil servants, and 9,000 PPPK employed in South Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, goods expenditure is recorded at Rp1.82 trillion or 20.49 percent of the Rp8.86 trillion ceiling. The spending is used to support the execution of the duties and functions of ministries and agencies, including office services across 727 work units from 47 ministries and agencies operating in South Sulawesi.

Capital expenditure up to end-March 2026 realised Rp613.10 billion or 15.97 percent of the Rp3.84 trillion ceiling. The budget is used for preservation activities of the Watampone–Pompanua–Tarumpakae Road and Bridge, preservation of the Makassar–Maros Road and Bridge at the Makassar–Maros city boundary, the boundary between Pangkep and Maros Regencies, and Maros–Bone boundary, as well as the construction of Songka Palopo Type A Terminal.

‘Regarding social assistance with an allocation of Rp25 billion, Rp5.75 billion has been disbursed for social rehabilitation assistance such as vulnerable groups, persons with disabilities, children, the elderly, and victims of drug abuse and people living with HIV,’ he said.
