Jayapura — The Regional Office of Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes for Papua, West Papua, and Maluku (Kanwil DJP Papabrama) reported that as of 9 March 2026, a total of 167,977 local taxpayers have submitted their Annual Individual Income Tax Returns (SPT) for the 2025 tax year.

Directorate General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto said in Jayapura on Friday that of the total 346,928 registered taxpayers in Papua, 167,977 have completed their filings.

“Based on these figures, we anticipate the numbers will continue to increase as the filing deadline approaches,” he said.

Wijayanto expressed gratitude to the community for their voluntary compliance with tax obligations.

“In detail, of the total returns received, 164,902 SPT submissions were from individual taxpayers and 3,075 from corporate taxpayers,” he explained.

He noted that the increase in annual tax return submissions reflects the tax authority’s continued efforts in tax education and assistance to the public, including outreach to media organisations.

“Meanwhile, a total of 272,283 individual taxpayers have registered for an Authorisation Code or Electronic Certificate as part of the digital tax service administration process,” he said.

To further improve service accessibility, the Directorate General of Taxes has introduced additional channels within the Coretax ecosystem, namely Coretax Form and Coretax Mobile (M-Pajak).

“These features are expected to assist taxpayers in regions with limited internet access, including areas in Papua and Maluku that still face geographic challenges,” he said.
