DJP records 13.59 million tax return filings by 31 May 2026

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) under the Ministry of Finance recorded 13.59 million tax return filings by 31 May 2026. Previously, the DJP extended the deadline for corporate tax return filings until 31 May 2026. “As of 24:00 WIB on 31 May 2026, tax return progress stood at 13,593,754,” said Inge Diana Rismawanti, DJP’s Director of Tax Education, Services, and Public Relations, in a written statement on Monday in Jakarta. Individual tax returns totalled 10,962,917 for salaried employees and 1,504,209 for non-salaried individuals. From the oil and gas sector, filings came from 17 taxpayers in rupiah and 270 in US dollars. Tax returns for different fiscal years, filed from 1 August 2025, totalled 45,108 corporate tax returns in rupiah and 43 in US dollars. Meanwhile, the number of taxpayers who have activated DJP’s Coretax accounts reached 19,502,020. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa previously stated that the implementation of DJP’s Coretax system in tax processes has positively impacted state revenue, reflected in the growth of underpaid tax returns and a decline in overpaid ones. As of 30 April, DJP recorded an 83% growth in underpaid individual employee tax returns, a significant 949% increase for non-salaried individuals, and an 18% rise for corporations. Conversely, overpaid tax returns for individual employees contracted by 46%, while non-salaried individuals saw a 96% decline. Corporate overpaid returns, however, grew by 59%.
