DJP: Coretax Disruptions Being Resolved, Results to Be Announced Next Week

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) at the Ministry of Finance has announced that disruptions to the Coretax system are being resolved, following a series of repairs carried out over recent days. Repairs were conducted intensively, particularly on the case management feature, which had previously experienced slowdowns and operational issues. “Coretax is continuously being updated and repaired. The case management system, which was somewhat slow and had problems, was resolved internally from Friday to Sunday. Today it has started to function properly again,” said DJP Director General Bimo Wijayanto in Jakarta on Wednesday. The results of the system update will be tested by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa next week before being presented to the public. “We are preparing it thoroughly, and next week the Minister will certainly convey the Coretax improvements to the media,” he said. Bimo explained that the DJP is also improving the efficiency of the algorithm previously developed by a vendor. The development of the source code is now handled internally by the DJP, so the system can be more easily refined according to needs. In addition, the DJP has simplified the Coretax user interface to make it more straightforward and easier for the public to use. However, he acknowledged that this change requires an adjustment period for users accustomed to the old interface. “The user interface has also been changed to be more simple. Of course, there will be an adjustment from those who were used to the old interface to this new one, which is far simpler and easier to understand,” he said. Furthermore, Bimo stated that the future development of Coretax will be managed by a special team for the Core Tax Administration System Update (PESIAP). “This special team will later be merged into two directorates: the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Transformation and the Directorate of Business Process Transformation,” he said.
