DJKA Case: KPK Examines Regent Sudewo over Alleged Project Fee Receipts
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into the role of inactive Pati Regent Sudewo in his capacity as a former member of Commission V of the DPR regarding allegations of receiving project fees from private parties in the suspected corruption case of railway line procurement within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).
This material was examined by the KPK when questioning Sudewo as a suspect in the case on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
“Investigators are delving into the role and alleged involvement of Mr SDW (Sudewo) in conditioning procurement at DJKA, including Mr SDW being examined regarding allegations of receiving project fees from private parties,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Thursday (30/4/2026).
“Previously, investigators conducted marathon examinations of parties at DJKA as well as private parties, delving into the procurement process mechanisms for goods and services within the scope of DJKA,” he said.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) delved into the role of former Commission V DPR member and inactive Pati Regent Sudewo regarding arrangements and conditioning of prospective providers in work at the Central Java Railway Technical Office (BTP Jateng) and East Java Railway Technical Office (BTP Jatim).
This material was examined by the KPK when questioning the Director General of Transportation and Multimodal Integration at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), Mohamad Risal Wasal, as a witness in the suspected corruption case of railway line procurement within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).
Risal was examined in his capacity as Director General of Railways for the period 2022-2025.
“Investigators are delving into material related to arrangements, conditioning, and plotting of prospective providers in work within the Central Java Railway Technical Office (BTP Jateng) and East Java Railway Technical Office (BTP Jatim), particularly those carried out by suspect SDW (Sudewo),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Friday (24/4/2026).
It is known that the KPK has designated Pati Regent Sudewo as a suspect in two suspected corruption cases simultaneously.
In addition to being a suspect in the alleged extortion case for filling village apparatus positions, Sudewo has also been designated as a suspect in the bribery case for railway line projects at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.
“It is true that this is the entry point and at the same time, for the DJKA case, it has today been elevated to investigation, yes, so simultaneously. Yes, yes (Sudewo has been designated as a suspect),” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at a press conference on Tuesday (20/1/2026).
“It is true that Mr SDW (Sudewo) is one of the parties alleged to have received flows of commitment fees related to the railway line construction project that we mentioned yesterday in the update on the detention of one of the suspects, Mr R (Risna Sutriyanto),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on 13 August 2025.
