Djarot Surprised as Jakarta Deputy Governor's Office Transformed Like This

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, admitted he was shocked to see the changes to the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta’s workspace when attending the Open House at Jakarta City Hall on Saturday (21/3/2026). He confessed to being surprised by the alterations to the room, particularly due to the partitions that made the workspace appear different from before. Nevertheless, this figure, who once partnered with former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, assessed the changes as normal and part of adapting to needs. According to Djarot, the current condition of the Jakarta Deputy Governor’s room vividly portrays the character of Rano Karno, who loves culture, especially Betawi. “There are many items with a Betawi ethnic nuance there. Paintings, nice,” he said. Besides the deputy governor’s room, Djarot also took a look at the governor’s room, which he said is now more organised. “I also visited Mr Governor’s room, which has been cleaned up and now looks good. So I’m pleased,” he said. In addition to viewing the room conditions, Djarot met with long-time employees in the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) environment. He admitted to being happy to meet Pemprov Jakarta employees. He even regarded this Eid moment as a form of fostering ties with colleagues he had not met for a long time. “We met with old friends, having very friendly dialogues. Because this Eid is truly about building fraternal bonds,” he stated.
