Djajanti builds fishery project
JAKARTA (JP): The well-diversified Djajanti Group is developing a multi-billion rupiah fisheries and aquaculture venture in Opin, Seram island, Maluku.
Halomoan Manurung of Djajanti Group told Antara in Ambon on Wednesday that the project included an integrated shrimp and fish processing and packaging plant, 1,600 hectares of shrimp ponds and a seafreight container terminal.
The plant, managed by Mina Seram Lestari, is scheduled to begin production in August.
Manurung said the project had so far employed 700 people, mainly to construct the shrimp ponds. (rid)
