DIY Weather Forecast Today: Rain on the Slopes of Mount Merapi

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has issued its weather forecast for the region today (10 October). Conditions are expected to be mostly partly cloudy from morning to midday, becoming increasingly cloudy towards the evening and night.

Yogyakarta City

According to a post on BMKG DIY’s official Instagram account, @infobmkgyia, no rain is forecast anywhere in Yogyakarta City today. Conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy throughout the day.

Sleman

Rain is not expected in most of Sleman today. Conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to heavily cloudy throughout the day, including around Prambanan Temple and its surroundings.

However, light rain may fall from midday in other areas, including Kaliurang and the slopes of Mount Merapi — the kapanewon (subdistricts) of Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan.

Bantul

No rain is forecast in Bantul today. Conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy throughout the day, including at tourist beaches across the regency, such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

Rain is not expected anywhere in Kulon Progo today, including the Menoreh Hills, coastal areas and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). Conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to heavily cloudy throughout the day.

Gunungkidul

No rain is forecast anywhere in Gunungkidul today. Conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to heavily cloudy throughout the day, including at tourist beaches across the regency, such as Indrayanti Beach.
