DIY Regional Police Name Condongcatur Village Head as Suspect in Village Land Corruption Case
The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the DIY Regional Police has uncovered an alleged corruption case involving the misuse of Village Treasury Land (TKD) in Condongcatur Village, Sleman. Investigators have named one suspect, namely the Head of Condongcatur, Reno Candra Sangaji.
When confirmed, the Head of Public Relations of the DIY Regional Police, Commissioner Ihsan, confirmed that the Head of Condongcatur has been designated as a suspect. He stated that the designation followed a case review conducted by investigators.
“The investigators have named one suspect in this case. The suspect is the Head of Condongcatur himself,” said Ihsan when met by journalists at the DIY Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
He continued, noting that the suspect was named last May. At present, the suspect has not yet been detained.
“The designation happened just last week, in May. Essentially, it is the Head of Condongcatur. Yes, the active village head,” he said.
“At this time, we have not yet detained the individual because the legal process is still ongoing,” he added.
Ihsan explained that the case relates to the utilisation of land in the Gandok hamlet. The land was leased to several individuals without permission from the Governor. According to an audit by the BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency), the losses in this case amount to more than Rp 1 billion.
“According to the investigation results, the land is located in the Gandok hamlet area, Condongcatur. This land was leased to 17 tenants without permission from the Governor of DIY, resulting in losses. The losses are approximately over Rp 1 billion,” he explained.
Furthermore, Ihsan has not yet disclosed the full details of the case, as investigators are still conducting additional examinations.
“We will provide the full details during a press conference. But the main point is that one suspect has been named, and examinations of the suspect have been conducted,” he concluded.
