Sleman - The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, has urged Sleman Regency government officials and the community in the area to exercise self-awareness in every policy-making process. “The spirit of Eid al-Fitr can serve as inner motivation in facing various challenges, as well as the importance of the principle ‘Mulat Sariro, Jumangkah Jantraning Laku’, namely always exercising self-awareness in every policy decision,” the Sultan stated during his address at the Syawalan event with Sleman Regency government officials at the Parasamya Pendopo in Sleman Regency on Tuesday. “It is fitting that we are able to think clearly and empathetically, because for wise individuals, they will fear violating various existing rules and norms, in line with the principle of Mulat Sariro, Jumangkah Jantraning Laku,” he added. On that occasion, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X conveyed that the values gained during the month of Ramadan should continue to be implemented in everyday life, including in social and national life. He explained that the Syawalan momentum is not only an opportunity for reconnection but also a means to strengthen values of sincerity, patience, and togetherness in facing various challenges. On that occasion, Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya also extended Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings and apologies lahir and batin to all attendees. “This Syawalan momentum is an opportunity for us all to forgive each other while strengthening togetherness in building the region,” he said. The Sleman Regent affirmed the Sleman Regency Government’s commitment to improving the quality of public services and realising good governance. According to him, future development challenges will become increasingly complex, thus requiring professional, integrity-driven, and quick-responding apparatus to dynamics. “Public services are not merely routines but a form of service to the community. Therefore, we continue to encourage the enhancement of civil servants’ capacity to become professional and integrity-driven individuals,” he said. Harda also emphasised the importance of collaboration and synergy between the local government, provincial government, and all stakeholders in supporting development in Sleman Regency. The event concluded with a handshake procession between Regent Harda Kiswaya along with all Sleman Regency government officials and the Governor and Deputy Governor of DIY as a symbol of harmony and synergy between local governments.
