Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, hopes that the incident involving TNI soldiers in the UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon who died while carrying out their duties will not recur. “I offer my condolences, but also my hope that this incident does not happen again,” said the Sultan after welcoming the arrival of the TNI soldier’s remains at Baseops Lanud Adisutjipto Yogyakarta on Saturday night. According to the Sultan, with the incident of three TNI soldiers who died in Lebanon while carrying out the peacekeeping mission, the government must immediately ensure the existing peace agreements in that joint UN mission. The Governor of DIY also hopes that the Indonesian Government, together with the UN organisation, will conduct an identification regarding the incident that led to the TNI soldiers dying while on duty in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. “Our demands are there, at the UN, and hopefully it can be carried out well. Properly identifying whether this was negligence or intentional, I think so,” he said. One of the TNI soldiers who died while carrying out the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon is from Kulon Progo, DIY, namely Kopda Anumerta Farizal Rhomadhon. After the remains are handed over to the family tonight, they will be buried at the Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP) Kulon Progo on Sunday (5/4).
