Divorce tops cases in Aceh sharia court

BANDA ACEH, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam: Divorce petitions have
dominated the types of cases that have been dealt with by the
Banda Aceh Sharia Court over the last three months.

Court registrar Yusri said on Wednesday that divorces had
accounted for 41 of the 57 cases filed with the court between
February and April of this year.

Last year, 104 of the 166 cases brought before the court were
divorce cases, Yusri said, adding that these involved at least 23
civil servants. --Antara
