Diverse Communities Enliven Creativity Parade in Makassar
After successfully engaging audiences in Jakarta, Bandung, and Medan, Makassar is now the next stop on the Extrajoss Ultimate Takeover tour. Held along Jalan Jend. Sudirman with a mainstage at the Mandala Monument, Extrajoss Ultimate brought energy to public spaces through a vibrant celebration of community, music, and youth expression during the city’s car-free day (CFD).
Arwin Nugraha Hutasoit, Head of Marketing, Media, and Consumer Insight at Kalbe Consumer Health, explained that Makassar was chosen for its active, expressive, and communal youth culture. “Makassar has tremendous energy. The city thrives on community creativity—from music and extreme sports to open, casual socialising. That’s why Extrajoss Ultimate Takeover fits perfectly with Makassar’s pulse,” he said.
As the parade began, Jalan Jendral Sudirman and Mandala Monument were filled with thousands of enthusiastic visitors. Diverse communities joined the takeover march, including running groups like Chaosdivisionx, Jalan Bareng Makassar, and Believe Runners, as well as urban and extreme sports groups such as Makassar BMX, Makassar Skateboarding, Chaos Street Crew, inline skating, parkour, and hip-hop freestyle. The event was enlivened by percussion groups accompanying the parade, while the community parade itself drew attention with DJ performances by Isabella Brigita and Ruslika Lolo, adding to the festive atmosphere.
At the mainstage, Moluccan Soul delivered high-energy performances that energised the crowd, interspersed with attractive prizes. DJ sets and spontaneous karaoke sessions by Ormas Berkaraoke further boosted participation. Interactive activities and special quests with exclusive prizes also drew significant attention throughout the event.
“Extrajoss Ultimate offers a more relevant energy choice for today’s youth. With green coffee as a natural energy source and lower sugar content, it delivers smoother, longer-lasting focus for daily activities,” Arwin noted.
Through the Makassar Takeover, Extrajoss Ultimate aims to create space for young people to express themselves, move with communities, and enjoy positive energy in the city. It’s more than just entertainment—it’s an appreciation of collective spirit and growing creativity across Indonesian cities.
The “I Am Ultimate” tagline came to life as thousands of youths brought their unique energy and identities—through communities, hobbies, and public expression—to the event.
“With Extrajoss Ultimate, we aim to stay close to Indonesian youth’s daily lives, becoming part of their drive to move forward, create, and enjoy every step of the journey,” Arwin concluded.
The event opened with a community parade covering approximately two kilometres in pyjamas, symbolising dreams taken to the streets.
